There’s been a shift in my blogging mindset. I’ve had a nice run with this blog over the past couple of years. I’ve shared my work with new audiences; I’ve sparked a few online debates. I’m keeping this blog visible as an archive, but I won’t update it anytime in the foreseeable future.
Instead, my personal blog will be my website blog. I’ll post updates on my writing, maybe some sample content and “thoughts and ponderings.” The posts will be shorter than some of the posts found on this blog.
I’m reviving the Bold Book Blog as my book review blog. I’ll keep the review style featuring the Book Rating Scale, but I will also add shorter, more traditional reviews.
There are a few reasons why I’m essentially splitting this blog in two. 1) It’s part of my effort to re-focus my online presence to my website. I want it to be the one-stop place online for everything about A. Jarrell Hayes. As a website should be. 2) I like having a book review blog separate from my personal blog. One blog is all about me (I can be a bit of an egomaniac — but what artist isn’t?), the other is about what I’m reading (which again brings it back to me). 3) Because I felt like it. Seriously. Change is good. I didn’t feel like holding on to how I was blogging when I no longer was excited about it. Hopefully this change will bring excitement back into my blogging career.
See you on the other blogs!
